A ticket to heaven

they promised me a ticket to heaven.
a place where all is in harmony,
free of sorrow, free of pain,
free to anyone as it would be made.

all it takes is this:
" be completely humble and gentle;
be patient, bearing with one another in love."

Make every effort to keep your spirit in unity.
Make every effort to keep your body walking straight.

But this world to me in much a despair.
laugh, without laughter.
hope, without hopefulness.
death, without a cure.

A slap on your face, and walk away they may.
but, they handed me a ticket to heaven.
and said, now ain't life ran?
